As part of trying to solve the family mystery, Jane and Ian had a dabble with facial recognition software that can be found at familysearch.org
At this point Jane and Ian now have an idea about who Joseph Leigh Hunter might have really been, just now about how to prove it.
The following is a comparison of a photograph from findagrave and one of the mystery photographs that Jane’s father inherited.
We sourced the photograph on the right from this page on findagrave.com, shown below
We later learned that the above 2 ladies’ faces being compared were sisters. Jane and Ian believe it is Sarah being facially compared with Mary.
To test the facial recognition software, below is a photograph of Jessie Hunter, Ian and Jane’s paternal grandmother and Ian’s father circa 1940-1941, kindly shared by Jane

Proving that the facial recognition software does indeed seem to be fairly accurate.
