We used to subscribe to Now TV as they have some good content, but we got fed up of the monthly ‘Boost’ charge of £6.00, which we feel is a total rip-off.
Now we regularly get emails from Now TV offering special deals, the latest is entitled “your killer offer is inside…”, which is ‘Now Entertainment’ for £4.99 for 6 months, with month of ‘Boost’ for free.
For those that might not be familiar with ‘Now TV’, without ‘Boost’ you get 720p video, Stereo and the ability to view one stream at a time. If you subscribe to ‘Boost’ at £6 per month you get slightly improved video quality it is 1080p, the sound quality is then Dolby Digital at 5.1 specification, oh and the icing on the cake is you stream more than 1 thing at a time.
So when you exit the offered trial period the cost of the entertainment rises to £9.99 per month, add the £6 per month, you end up paying per month £15.99, for the same or less quality than Netflix, Amazon and Disney, to name but a few streaming channels.
We are slightly ‘ticked off’ with Amazon Prime asking for another £2.99 per month not to see adverts, but when you consider the standard monthly fee of £ 8.99 which also includes free deliveries, it makes what ‘Now TV’ is charging a complete farce.
Unless ‘Now TV’ do away with the additional charge for ‘Boost’, we will never return as customers, no matter how good their content maybe. We just wonder how many other people out there agree with our stance considering the current ‘Cost of Living’ situation?
