5 years had passed since Ian first discovered the brick wall, though he tried to crack it a few times. Ian retired in late 2016 and seriously started to try to crack the “Leigh Hunter” brick wall. Ian came to the conclusion that he would never make any progress using just genealogical records. The realisation was that the only possible way to make some progress would be a DNA test.
In 2017, Ian purchased an Ancestry DNA test kit, though interest waned again for quite a while. The DNA test sat unopened on a shelf for months. Something finally rekindled interest, Ian finally got around to spitting in the tube and sending it off to be analysed.
Time went ticking by. Finally, an email arrived saying Ian’s results were ready and available to view online. Finally some DNA relatives, but where to start? Ancestry showed lots of people that he shared DNA with, though Ian had no idea who some of these people were.
Time to do some internet searching to get a clue of how to proceed.
