We tried searching for Leigh Hunter and Kate Walton. The searches returned results for Kate or Catherine Walton, though nothing linked her to a Leigh Hunter! Searches for Leigh Hunter turned up a Leigh Rigby Hunter from Shropshire though the dates etc. were all wrong, ruling him out.

The family tree shown above is incorrect and a dead end. It uses the information from Joseph Leigh Hunter’s marriage certificate. The marriage certificate names Joseph Leigh’s parents as Leigh Hunter and Kate Walton. Below is the parish record for a Will Hunter and Jane Leigh, again dates not even close!
Ian asked some people who he had met online whilst searching, who had more genealogical experience, to see if they could find a trace of Leigh Hunter. They also had no luck at all.
